The greatest love story ever told. September 27, 2004
Reviewer: Ron from Du Quoin, IL

Considering the appalling amounts of cinematic slop Hollywood has splashed across the silver screen for so many years, I have often wondered if anyone in the motion picture industry was capable of producing a film masterpiece which was uplifting to its viewers (let alone willing to do so). Mel Gibson has stepped up and delivered such a film with The Passion of the Christ. Jesus of Nazareth reamins my favorite film about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. The Passion of the Christ is not about the LIFE and MINISTRY of Jesus, but about His death on the cross and the twelve hours leading up to His crucifixion. The story of a God who loved all mankind so much that He sent His only Son to die for our sins so we could be with Him for all eternity is indeed "the greatest story ever told." Gibson, drawing from the four Gospels of the New Testament, has given us a faithful, lovingly-crafted rendering of that story. James Caviezel gives one of the greatest performances of any "screen Jesus" I have ever seen (second only, perhaps, to Robert Powell in Jesus of Nazareth). Yes, this film is very bloody, and is probably not suitable for children under thirteen. Yet many of the same media buffoons who have attacked The Passion for its violence have defended many other movies which are also very violent, but not nearly as uplifting as The Passion. I hope that The Passion of the Christ will instill in many a Passion FOR the Christ.

Breathtaking August 3, 2004
Reviewer: Brad from Canada

Without a doubt, the most powerful, and emotional movie ever created. To see Christ suffer, and see what He went through for our sins, is incredible. This movie shows straight out how horribly our God was treated, and how much He loved us, despite our sins.

The most inspiring and moving film ever made! September 7, 2004
Reviewer: Tara from Las Vegas, NV

Yes, you read the story or at least heard the story many times. But until Mel Gibson and the awesome cast took on the task of making it visually real, you have never felt it like this! This film gives an in depth look at how our Savior truly suffered to redeem all of us from our sins! Anti-semantic, you say? No! Not when you consider that Jesus Christ suffered to save the entire world from the sins we have all committed, regardless of whether or not you are Jewish, Christian or any other religion or nationality! Thank you Mel Gibson, for having the courage of your convicions to create such an awe-inspiring movie!

Lives Up To The Hype August 22, 2004
Reviewer: Brian from New Jersey

What can be said that hasn't been already said about this movie? Well, if you haven't yet heard about it, this is an extremely powerful film. It is brilliantly directed and aside from some difficulties that non-Christians may have in understanding the film due to its deep interpretation, it still audibly and visually conveys a powerful message nonetheless. I could tell when I left the theater that many people were just as moved as I was; either crying, shaking, or both.

An Experience August 25, 2004
Reviewer: Matthew from Lynchburg

This really was more than just a movie, it was an experience. Sometimes when we read the bible we don't really let our imagination really take hold of what we are reading. Mel really let that happen and it made for something very unique and powerful. This is a must see.

Wonderful July 24, 2006

This is the story of Christ. It is well done in my opinion. I would not suggest it for young children. This is a good movie.
